Waste Hauling Compacted Waste occupies up to 70% less dumpster space than loose, non-compacted waste. Dumpster tips, dumpster size, and/or the number of dumpsters can be reduced allowing for these savings. Variations in waste hauling savings from location to location occur because of various waste hauling charges in each area and the fast food organizations' agreements with waste haulers etc.
Trash Liners On a per bag basis, the heavy duty strength bags that are used in Automatic Compacting Receptacles are more expensive than conventional bin liners. However, the quantity that is used, versus the quantity of conventional liners, usually results in either savings or a break even point.
Labor One compacted cube of waste holds the equivalent of 8 to 12 of the 33 gallon size bags of loose waste. Because of this, the number of times (and the amount of time) required by your employees to empty the trash bins and clean up around the trash bins and dumpsters is substantially reduced, usually by as much as 75%. Leaks & spills from removing trash in the dining area are also reduced or eliminated.
Capital Some conventional bin exteriors can absorb liquids over time. An average to high-volume dine-in transaction store will usually replace their conventional bins at least every 4 years. With good care, the construction of the Automatic Compacting Receptacles allows for a much longer life, thereby decreasing overall purchase costs over a 10 - 12 year period.

In addition to the above savings there are several other intangible savings that can be derived, such as:

  • Reduced or eliminated loss of food trays - A device which inhibits the loss of food trays while not obstructing waste deposits is standard on the Smart-Pack
  • Additional sales from Promotional Messages which sound to customers as they make their waste deposits (Programming System is optional)
  • Risk management benefits such as keeping the back door locked at night since the trash doesn't need to be taken to the dumpster (it can be scheduled to be removed during daylight or off-peak hours) etc.
